The Anambra State Government may soon begin active collaboration with Thailand on agricultural production. Indication to this effect was made known during a visit by the Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand, Chudi Okafor to Governor Willie Obiano at the State House, Awka.
The collaboration will come in terms of expansion of knowledge and know how in the production of cash crops such as rice, cassava and maize. The Governor said his administration would soon send a delegation to Thailand to see to the terms of the collaboration.

The governor said the agricultural revolution programme of his administration would also serve to stem the tide of Nigerian youths ending up in Thailand prison’s for drug related offences.

“Nigeria has enough rainfall to grow any crop and restore agriculture as the primary foreign exchange earner,” he said.

On his part, the visiting ambassador assured the governor and the people of the state that the Thailand Business Community would support the government in its developmental schemes, especially in the agriculture sector. He said Thailand will be willing to provide skills and technical assistance to the state in diverse agricultural activities.
